Ten Tec makes a neat little black box which attaches to any PC via a serial port. The box, called the RX-320D, is a shortwave (general coverage) receiver that works very well indeed with performance rivaling more expensive desktop receivers. An article I wrote about this receiver appears here.
Hector Peraza has written Linux software which offers the same functionality as the Windows software provided by Ten Tec when you buy an RX-320D. This software also works well with the original, long discontinued RX-320. The current version of his rx320 software is version 0.6.2, with source code available on his Sourceforge web page.
This page offers binary packages of rx320 software for various Linux distributions for download below. Additional packages for more distributions will be added in the near future. Also offered is a sample station database. The database file is platform independent and should work on any system where the rx320 software package works.
Installation of the rx320 software requires xclass. You will need to download and install both packages.
